Autobiographical Narrative Essay
“Anyone can make their future better however, to make steps; one shall overcome many lessons with hard work, determination and success.” This quote showed me that I have to work hard in order to move on, to create my world. I always believe that the life environment I live in will make my decisions such as technology coming to my life and i now want to learn more about it, but this is the main decision in my life which is “Should I go to college or get a career?” I always claim that I can be anyone as long as I work hard, but I was proven wrong because I wanted to be a police officer, manga artist or game designer, but I choose to become a computer repair technician.
In the beginning of my life, I knew that there would be many things that will shape what I want to be in the future. However, I knew that I needed to work hard. The goals I set were to learn everything about technology. In order to achieve my goal, I needed to know how a computer works, but I wanted to learn more about the things that involves technology such as tv, phones, and game consoles. My mother was the only one that helped me set my mind straight about what I wanted to become, but what also set me to become a computer repair technician was that I wanted to be a game designer.
Doesn’t make any sense? The reason why wanting to be a game designer got me to want to become a computer repair technician was that I realized that I love technology and I started learning everything about technology in order to be a success in video game design. I questioned myself: “What should I do since my career will depend on technology?” I came up with a solution, which was to learn about technology because I realized that technology is what change many things in my life and I’m grateful for that. Also I can fix my own computers for free, which will come in handy when I can fix my computer and maybe my brother’s and sisters’ as well. However, when I realized about fixing computers, i switch to be a computer repair technician because I believe that I might be more successful in being a technician since it takes a while for a game designer to earn a big bag of cash.
I also realize that technology is helpful in many areas in one person’s life. Even with that knowledge, I needed more to start my future, so I started by looking at classes that might help me on becoming a computer repair technician in high school when I was a sophomore. I found out that computer repair was a one-year class in Lindsay High School. Mrs. Caballero, my teacher, helped me learn many things about fixing computers and learning new knowledge of computers when I got the computer repair class in junior year. At first, it seemed easy, but then I found out that I will have to remember many things which bring out my weakness: Memory storage. However, I wouldn’t give up just because of my weakness; I knew that in order to become a computer repair technician, I need to overcome many things in the future in order to succeed as a computer repair technician.
Today, I’m still learning about repairing the computers, but in this class, it’s helping me review everything I learned and might teach me to know more about computers. The class is called Computer System Repair and Mrs. Caballero is helping me this year as well. I even help some people login in the school wireless and google drive when they go their school laptop. I felt kinda proud since I wish it was a little more challenging. I also applied for Tech Advanced, which will help me learn even more about technology. From now on, I will work hard to achieve my diploma. If I go to college, I will learn many things that I wouldn’t be able to learn by myself. I am determined to learn new things about technology to become someone big, so I can be a successful person.

A Difference in Culture, Language and Gender
Why must humanity treat each other differently based on culture, language or gender? Society got issues regarding to people treating other people based on culture, language and gender. I don’t understand why people must treat each other differently just because of the difference in culture, language and gender. “Racism exists in all cultures. People won’t admit it but their words prove it. People argue that their religion is superior than another. It makes people think they’re unequal.” this is quote by a unknow author. If we look at the past, African Americans were treated horribly by the whites, they even formed an organization called KKK, Ku Klux Klan, what is the point in rebelling each other through unnecessary violence and horrible ways? I found this line in an article that talks about women and men being different in social life, “Gender refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviours and attributes that society considers appropriate for men and women, such as women in Ireland being 50 times more likely to look after home and family, and men more likely to be radio presenters.” Changes society must have since no one wants to be treated terrible or differently. After all, we would want the same thing which is to live in union and peaceful not to live while suffering from being different. The changes that society must undergo is to stop treating people different just because they have different cultures, languages or genders. In the end, we all Humanity, we are one specie.

Assignment 1
In the article, “World on Wi-fire,” by Niall Ferguson argues that the possibility that that global computer network formed by technologically unified human minds is inherently unstable. He supports his arguments by declaring We are Linkedin, but StressedOut. And that ‘cloud’ of downloadable data may yet turn out to be a thundercloud.” I believe that Ferguson is saying that humanity might be able to advance our technology to where we can successfully create a A.l. and able to do something with our brain in technology. My argument is that we shouldn’t advance our technology a lot.
“Computer networks combine and amplify the primeval emotions of fear, love, and hate.” this sentence shows that it will be highly possible that A.l. can gain emotions and if we not careful, the A.l. will gain negative emotions than positive ones. People will say that having a A.l. won’t be bad as it can seem, after all it’s also a possibility that a A.l. can help us improve something. I don’t really oppose for humanity creating a A.l. since they can help us but if local people can learn to create and program a A.l. then we can consider that some people could program an A.l. to harm humanity or even if possible...it can try to extinct us.
Having technology to copying our brain into data for people to view in computers might seem quite dangerous. After all, people would want to access information like that and some people who would be able to illegally access someone’s brain data, they would be able to sell the data if it is valuable. People probably might see this as a good thing since they can save parts of their memories into data to view it in the computer, some might even do it to open more data to put in their brain or they might do it so they can save their marriage or something. True, having technology to be able to copy or access information that is in our brain can be useful in some ways but if someone can force a access or force a view then it can already be considered dangerous for those who can have classified information.
Niall Ferguson argues that the possibility that that global computer network formed by technologically unified human minds is inherently unstable. His audience is to those who love technology which will possibly consider as everyone on Earth. My argument is that we shouldn’t advance our technology a lot. What needs to be done is that people should slowly process in advancing technology so we won’t have a crisis such as someone copying nuclear codes from someone who might have them.

Assignment 2
In a article, “How a Self-Fulfilling Stereotype Can Drag Down Performance,” by Shankar Vedantam, argues that people are giving stereotype threats to people that are not the same as herself/himself. Vedantam supports his/her argument by researching people’s studies like Sociologist Min-Hsuing Huang whom has research African American’s Vocabulary test and compare them to the Whites’. My argument is that people shouldn’t underestimate other people or see other kind of people different just because they look different. Since people view others differently, this can affect their performance.
In the article, Sociologist Min-Hsuing Huang finds that with a white interviewer, African American score lower than white in a vocabulary test. However, African American score equally when there is a African American interviewer. Many people might think that this is just a confidence that the African American score equally to whites because the interviewer is a African American. Evidence can be found in the article that many people have not notice that many people are treating others differently by their race rather than performance.
Races aren’t the only ones receiving stereotype threats that affect their performance. Women are being considered that they score lower than a man can in SAT. In the past, man would believe that women don’t need to be educational, they only need to know how to take care of the house and their family. My counter is that women shouldn’t be receiving these kind of insults or stereotype threats after all women can and will be able to perform the same SAT scores as men but they can as well outperform them.
Vedantam’s argument is that many people have been using stereotype threats to those who are different in race and gender. Vedantam’s argument is being sent to those whom are using the stereotypes threats. My argument is that people shouldn’t treat each other differently or underestimate them by race or gender because it can affect their performance even their lives. What needs to change is that humanity should accept those who are different by race or gender that are the same in the end after all they are also humans.

Assignment 3
As a city planner, i have to answer to whether to build houses and buildings in an area that is hazardous then guard against nature or to avoid these areas. My argument is that we are building houses and buildings because human population is increasing and we running out of space to build to store, houses, factories and so on. My answer is that for now i should avoid the lands till humanity found a way to build a stronger force against nature so we won’t suffer from the natural disasters.
In an article written by geological survey writes, “Houses in the path of debris avalanches can be severely damaged or demolished. Persons in these structures can be severely injured or killed.” this proves that building houses in hazardous land can lead to a heavy casualties to human population. Many people will say that we only lose 1% of the population and when we lose it we gain something in return which is a way to avoid the same mistake twice. This means that some people are willing to sacrifice people just because it’s 1% of the human population but others don't really consider this as a bad thing because the reason why we build house and buildings in hazardous land is that human population is increasing but free land/space is decreasing on Earth. This doesn’t mean that we should sacrifice 1% of human population just cause we running out of land on Earth. We should first plan how to avoid these natural disasters after all we will need to learn how to protect ourselves from disasters.
Also land isn’t free so people will have to buy the land in order to build the houses and buildings. Building houses and buildings in a hazardous land will waste a large sum of money because people expect us, city planners, to think of what and how about the disasters. So there will be a lots of people rioting in the city because the city didn’t make sure that the people living in a hazardous land were protected and they would want money and everything they lost. Also we can’t just say, “oops, we’re sorry that we didn’t think about this after all what we needed to do was to build your new homes and buildings since we have our population increase every min.” We can’t afford to provoke or give a helpless speech so we need to avoid building in hazardous land.
As a city planner, my argument is that we should avoid building in hazardous land so we won’t get into unnecessary expected trouble. Reason is that we can’t afford to loose many people to natural disasters and can’t afford to spend too much money on building on land that will continue to waste our hard work. What needs to be done is that we should avoid building houses and others buildings in hazardous land and think of a plan to protect the population from natural disasters.
